    Size
Since Feed the Children organization delivers food, medicine, clothing and other necessities to individuals, children and families who lack these essentials due to famine, war, poverty or natural disasters the problem is increasing unfortunately. For instance, when Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast in 2005, Feed The Children self-reported sending over 650 semi tractor-trailers totaling more than 40 million pounds of donated food and relief supplies. Between the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States and the South Asian tsunami in December 2004, Feed The Children self-reported sending more than 31 million pounds of food and relief supplies to the affected regions. If Feed the Children organizationhadn't helped the people in Katrina many children wouldn't have survided this terrible desaster.

    Goal
Feed The Children domestic programs are focused on distributing essential items to needy families. Corporate partners donate surplus food and other supplies. Feed The Children's wholly owned for-profit subsidiary, FTC Transportation, Inc., picks up in-kind contributions from corporate warehouses and brings them to one of five Feed The Children regional distribution centers.
Since its founding in 1979, Feed The Children has grown into one of the world's largest private organizations dedicated to helping hungry and hurting people around the globe.
Feed The Children's international programs focus on providing food, medical assistance, emergency relief and sustainable development. Recent international efforts include the Abandoned Baby Center (ABC) in Nairobi, Kenya, which provides medical treatment and safe haven for children who have been orphaned or abandoned by poverty and the AIDS epidemic. Other international projects funded by Feed The Children include medical mission trips and Builders for Children. Builders for Children provides volunteer construction labor for underdeveloped regions of Central America, Africa, Eastern Europe and South America. Another example of an international project funded by Feed the Children is the "Casa del NiƱo" (House of the child) in Barrio Ingles, La Ceiba, Honduras. In 2009 FTC has greatly expanded its program in Malawi. Using in-kind donations from Nuskin, Inc, 50,000 orphans and pre-school children, mostly in rural areas, receive a fortified porridge, VitaMeal.[10] Feed The Children has received an $8.5 million grant from the USAID as part of a 5-year, $20 million project for orphans and vulnerable children that will improve food security and access to nutrition, education, clean water, sanitation and sustainable agricultural development for 40,000 households and over 70,000 children impacted by HIV/AIDS in Malawi. The Tiwalere OVC Project, in full operation in 2011, will make Malawi the largest international program.

    ANALYSIS OF THE PROBLEM.

Many people around the world are in desperate need. Poverty, death, disease, and disasters wreak havoc in the lives of millions.

These problems comes as a result of wars, abandoned children, and natural disasters from hurricanes to tsunamis to earthquakes and floods.

Many times little children are the ones who suffer the most from these problems, and they are the ones most desperately in need of your help.

Sometimes the terrible reality of the millions of hungry children around the world can seem overwhelming. But you don't have to stand by hopelessly while children are going hungry.

You can change young lives for good through feed the children program.

  5. My solution:
Feed the Children organization has a variety of programs we can be part of and one of them is through workplace giving.
Donations from the Federal Campaign, State employees, private sector and other workplace giving programs allow Feed The Children to continue to make a difference in the lives of the children who are the victims of terrible disasters and have to go to bed hungry, and no child should go through this situation.

  6. NEFERTIT I SAID:
    SUGESSTIONS OF POSSIBLE SOLUTION.
It is believed that it will be completely impossible to stop natural disasters from happening; but humans can minimize the effects of these disasters by studying them and periods they could occur .under the auspices and control of united nations, the disaster-prone countries /areas of the world could be on check by deploying the services of scientists for the studies of weather, flood, and earthquakes. They will be able through studies, pre-empt any of these disasters. As such, the would-be victims could be relocated or moved to safer areas ahead of time. This will reduce the damages, death, and hunger usually experienced by many unfortunate people of the world.
The international community, such as United Nations should encourage gradual change in political systems all over the world, by so doing war could be averted .The politically vulnerable countries should be encourage to use more dialogues in solving political problems of any kind.
The United Nations should make education free for the poor and peasant children all over the world, to reduce poverty and ignorance. Technical/artisan and skills trainings should be made free under the control of UNESCO /United Nations.
All countries of the world and the rich people should contribute to these programmes. In order for lives to be saved and hunger to be stamped out permanently, all must be involved for the good of humanity.

  7. I believe that one solution to this massive problem would be for local governments to actively work together to provide aid to these children in need. One of the major outlying problems is that these areas affected are destitute. It would be necessary for outside governments to provide education to these habitants to give them a means for a better future. These governments could implement programs that could help develop the local lands to provide agricultural benefits such as food and farming. I would not force businesses or corporations to make contributions but I would give them tax breaks to entice them to do so. I would also provide any citizen of this country a tax free income for up to three years if they worked in these areas. This solution would also bring more people to the forefront to help these starving children who otherwise would not do so.

  8. We believe that Nefertiti's solution is the best and the one that could be implemented the fastet. We think that society could minimize the effects of these disasters by studying them and periods and frequency that they occur. Under the auspices and control of United Nations, disaster-prone countries and areas of the world would benefit by deploying the services of scientists for the studies of weather and what causes these natural disasters. People living in these regions would be able to monitor and prevent some of these disasters. By imlementing this solution, the would-be victims could be relocated or moved to safer areas ahead of time. This will reduce the damages, death, and hunger usually experienced by many unfortunate children and families of these areas. The United Nations should encourage the gradual change of various political systems by educating them of these atrocities happening all over the world. This solution would prevent these countries, through education, by showing them what the negative impact war has on the country and how it can be averted .Politically vulnerable countries should be encourage to use more dialogues in solving political problems of any kind. The United Nations should provide free education for the poor and peasant children all over the world for this would reduce poverty and ignorance. Programs such as technical/artisan and skills trainings should be made free under the control of UNESCO /United Nations. We see that the only problem that we could encounter, would be countries that neither would not want to participate. We feel that through education and the rest of the world taking part, that these countries would see the good of helping these children in need and follow the example set forth.
All of the countries in the world and affluent people should contribute to these programs. In order for childrens lives to be saved and hunger to be stamped out permanently, we all must be involved for the good of humanity

  9. Major difficulties that this solution would face by implementing it would be having these different countries with diverse backgrounds come together for one great cause. Many countries are now currently suffering with there own various socio and economic problems. We feel that education is the key to victory over this problem. Through this, we feel that we could show the powerful people that control our lives what happens to millions of unfortunate people all over the world. Once these countries began to see the true positive effects of these actions, the world would come together in unity to see to the end of starving children around the world. Education is the key in all aspects of life and we feel that through it, we can solve this problem permanently.

  10. A)The best possible ways of overcoming difficulties is for the united nations to have a well-defined way of getting the rich and the industrialized countries together for the purposes of tackling these natural disasters .

    (B) United nations If the rich and advanced countries of the world will be able to team up together for the interest of disasters victims .

    (C) ,the rich countries of the world ,the wealthiest and all countries must come together to find solutions for natural disasters and hunger in the world .Every country no matter how poor should contribute to this.
